The St Petersburg Cinema Forum Started at the Mikhailovsky Theatre
On May, 2 the St Petersburg Cinema Forum dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory in WWII started at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The stars of national and international cinema took part in the opening ceremony.


     The stars of national and international cinema took part in the opening ceremony: Antonio Banderas, Alisa Freindlich, Vladimir Mashkov, Sergey Garmash, Vera Glagoleva, Mikhail Porechenkov, among others. Anastasia Vertinskaya and Fyodor Bondarchuk hosted thee ceremony.

The governor of St Petersburg Valentina Matvyenko addressed the guests of the Forum. ‘The hero city with rich cinematic history is the best place for the dialogue of cinema makers with humanistic ideals’, she said. The president of the Forum film director Alexey German said, ‘All of us need truthful films about heroes of the war to get united and love each other even more’. The premiere of the film Not Now directed by Valery Pendrakovsky and Yury Rogozin (2010) based on the story The Smell of Chocolate by Vladimir Voynovich followed the performance of Emma Chaplin. Elena Obraztsova accompanied by the Mikhailovsky Chorus and Orchestra performed the songs of war time in Arts Square.
