The first production to play at a Student Wednesday in the New Year will be Antonín Dvořák’s opera Rusalka on 11 January. Students will be the first to be acquainted with the theatre’s new Musical Director and Principal Conductor Mikhail Tatarnikov, who will make his conducting debut on that evening. The Mikhailovsky Theatre is holding a second Student Wednesday in January: on St. Tatiana’s Day (25 January); Nacho Duato’s one-act ballets – the triptych Without Words. Duende. Prelude – will be performed especially for students. And on 28 March students will have the chance to see Nacho Duato’s latest work and this season’s outstanding premiere, the ballet The Sleeping Beauty. Ludwig Minkus’ La Bayadère on 15 February, choreographed by Marius Petipa, will be part of the student programme, representing the classical ballet repertoire. only at the Mikhailovsky Theatre box office. One
ticket may be purchased for each student ID presented. Students must present a
valid student ID or ISIC card when attending the production. |
