Student Wednesdays

In its 179th season, the Mikhailovsky Theatre is launching a new project: Student Wednesdays. On one Wednesday each month, the theatre’s best ballet and opera productions will be performed especially for students. On production of a student card at the box office, any seat in the auditorium will cost RUB 700, substantially less than the usual price.



Student Wednesdays will break the unwritten law that says the place for students is in the gods: at the Mikhailovsky Theatre they can sit wherever they like. However, this is not just a matter of reduced ticket prices; what is important is that students will have a unique opportunity to watch productions they would normally not be able to, since they constantly play to packed houses. In this way, the theatre is fulfilling one of its most important tasks: to encourage a new generation of theatregoers.

Tickets for the Student Wednesdays promotion will be available only at the Mikhailovsky Theatre box office. Tickets go on sale on 20 August. One ticket may be purchased for each student ID presented. A valid student ID or ISIC card must be shown when attending the production.

Productions under the Student Wednesdays programme will be performed on one Wednesday each month:
28 September — Swan Lake
5 October — Giselle (Les Wilis)
2 November — Romeo and Juliet
21 December — Un ballo in maschera
