‘Best Male Opera Role’ Golden Mask was awarded to the American tenor Neil Shicoff for his performance of the role of Eléazar in the production of the Mikhailovsky Theatre.

L’elisir d’amore is one of the most popular works of the world opera repertory. All the Italians know the Donizetti’s opera by heart, and the romance for tenor in the second act ‘Una furtiva lagrima’ has become a symbol of bel canto.

On 15 March the Triple Bill by Nacho Duato, Artistic Director of the Mikhailovsky Ballet, received its première.



La Juive in St Petersburg and Moscow

In March the Mikhailovsky Theatre will present Halévy’s opera La Juive for three times: after the performance on 11 March in St Petersburg, the production will receive its Moscow première at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre.
