Andrejs Žagars is staging Un ballo in maschera
On July, 21 and 23 Giuseppe Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera premieres at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. Stage Director Andrejs Žagars, General Director of the Latvian National Opera, is commenting on the concept of the production.

On June, 18 an exhibition of the photos which have appeared on the front page of the Russian newspaper Kommersant opened at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The opening ceremony was a part of informal program of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The new subscription Territory of Arts
The Mikhailovsky Theatre continues its cooperation with the Russian Museum and presents the subscription Territory of Arts for the next season.

    
Quatro. A Project of Virtuoso Dancers
The production of the ballet Quatro was initiated by the two virtuoso dancers Denis Matvyenko and Leonid Sarafanov who cooperated with Romanian choreographer and dancer, director of the SNG Maribor Ballet in Slovenia Edward Clug and Slovenian composer Milko Lazar.

    
Laurencia premiered at the Mikhailovsky Theatre
On June, 5 and 6 the ballet Laurencia premiered at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. To celebrate the centenary from the birth of the great choreographer Vakhtang Chabukiani Ballet Master in Chief of the theatre Michael Messerer has revived the legendary ballet. The sets and costumes by Vadim Ryndin were revived by Oleg Molchanov and Vyacheslav Okunev. 

    
Slava Samodurov’s Ballet at the Mikhailovsky Theatre
Slava Samodurov, a young choreographer and a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet Covent Garden, is staging a new ballet set to music by Domenico Scarlatti.
The world premiere is to take place on July, 7.

    
The Little Prince. Hope and Joy
The charity performance The Little Prince held at the Mikhailovsky Theatre by The Give a Life foundation on May, 29 became a most emotional event in the program of the celebration of the Day of St Petersburg.
