| Leonid Sarafanov is hailed as ‘a dancer with ideal intuition’, ‘a brilliant virtuoso’, and ‘the little prince’ who has ‘no rivals either in high jumps or in breathtaking spinning.’
On graduating from the Kiev Ballet School the dancer was invited to the Mariinsky Theatre and rapidly established himself in the top echelons of teh ballet world. A prize-winner at the International Ballet Dancers’ Competitions in Seoul, Moscow, Paris, and Budapest, he was also awarded the International Benois de la Danse Prize. He’s a guest principal with La Scala Ballet, Tokyo Ballet, and the Vienna Opera: he dances principal roles in both classical and modern choreography. At the Mikhailovsky Theatre Leonid Sarafanov plans to extend and enrich his traditional repertory participating in the new productions by Artistic Director of the Mikhailovsky Ballet Nacho Duato. On 30 January Sarafanov will perform in the ballet Le Corsaire, in February in Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty. |
