Laurencia premiered at the Mikhailovsky Theatre
On June, 5 and 6 the ballet Laurencia premiered at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. To celebrate the centenary from the birth of the great choreographer Vakhtang Chabukiani Ballet Master in Chief of the theatre Michael Messerer has revived the legendary ballet. The sets and costumes by Vadim Ryndin were revived by Oleg Molchanov and Vyacheslav Okunev. 


       The title role was danced by Irina Perren (June, 5) and Ekaterina Borchenko (June, 6), who interpreted the part in two different ways.

The role of Frondoso was danced by Marat Shemiunov, the role of the Commander was danced by Mikhail Venshchikov in the both performances. Valery Ovsyanikov led the Mikhailovsky Orchestra.


The audience appreciated the delicacy of the people, reviving the ballet, who paid tribute to the great choreographer of the 20th century, inserting in the production some fragments of the film featuring Chabukiani.
