Four debuts in one evening
The performance on 14 April will become an evening of debuts: Laurencia is presented by a new cast.

The ballet received its première in June 2010, and since then the production has been an essential part of the ballet repertory, always popular with the public. Due to the masterful choreography by Vakhtang Chabukiani and the highly charged plot development the ballet is a challenge for the dancers. A role in the ballet is not only a possibility to showcase technical mastery but also a chance to define the dancer’s identity.

Olga Stepanova, famous for her ‘steel toes’ and sweeping pirouettes (her ‘Spanish’ repertory also includes the role of Kitri in Don Quixote), will star as Laurencia partnered by Mikhail Sivakov (Frondoso). Tatyana Miltseva, who has recently made her debut as Juliet in Prokofiev’s ballet, will dance the role of Laurencia’s friend, Pascuala. Expressive Vera Arbuzova will star as Jacinta, whose monologue, full of despair and revenge, is a culminating moment of the performance.
