| The public of Tokyo, Osaka and other cities attended performances by the company during the tour: all the 32 performances were sold out, one day the matinée and evening performances gathered 10 thousand visitors. The programme of the tour was based on the classical legacy: The Nutcracker, Giselle, Don Quixote, and Swan Lake. The productions featured not only ballet stars, but also young dancers who made their debuts: Valeria Zapasnikova and Ekaterina Krasyuk — in pas de trois in Swan Lake, Daria Elmakova — in grand pas in Don Quixote. The culmination of the tour was at the most prestigious venue in Tokyo — at the Bunka Kaykan on 9 December when the company presented Romeo and Juliet choreographed by Oleg Vinogradov. The production was presented abroad for the first time and it concluded the Festival of Russian Culture in Japan that took place in April-December 2010. |
