Cipollino – The Lecture before the Performance
The Mikhailovsky Theatre continues the series of lectures before the performance. In the 178th season the cycle was opened with a lecture on the ballet Cipollino led by Nikita Dolgushin, the famous dancer and renowned choreographer.
The public knew the history of creation and the difference between the productions of the ballet in various theatres. Cipollino set to music by Karen Khachaturian is claimed to be one of the best ballets for children. The Mikhailovsky Theatre presents the ballet choreographed by Genrikh Mayorov.

The next lectures will be dedicated to operas Un ballo in maschera, La Juive, Rusalka, Cavalleria Rusticana and ballets The Moor’s Pavane, Romeo and Juliet, La Sylphide, Le Corsaire.
