Mikhail Messerer is appointed Ballet Master in Chief of the Mikhailovsky Ballet. During the last two seasons Mr Messerer had given a series of classes for soloists and corps de ballet of the Mikhailovsky and had staged concert pieces for our London tour-2008.
Now he will lead the classroom teaching, invite new dancers and repetiteurs, take part in forming and conducting repertoire policy of the Mikhailovsky Ballet.
Born in Moscow in 1948, Mr Messerer is looked up to and respected as one of the world’s finest ballet teachers. As an international guest teacher, Messerer has given master classes to American Ballet Theatre, Paris Opera Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Royal Swedish Ballet, La Scala Ballet, Monte Carlo Ballet, Australian Ballet, English National Ballet and many other companies.
For over twenty-five years he has been working with London’s The Royal Ballet in the capacity of Company guest teacher.
