Rehearsing Le Corsaire

On 13 March 2009 the Mikhailovsky Theatre presented a new production of the ballet Le Corsaire, directed by Farukh Ruzimatov. The bright performance and marvelous costumes and sets give the impression of airiness and gracefulness. The dazzling effect, however, results from exhausting rehearsals in classes and hard work with repetiteurs. That’s how the féerie of ballet is born.
